Our Story
From job sites to a network of pros
Founder Marshon Hughes spent nine years in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, acquiring and rehabilitating distressed properties, taking houses that needed everything and turning them into places people were proud to call home. That's where the trade was learned: not in a classroom, but on job sites, one repair at a time.
In 2019, Marshon moved to Chicago and entered the union, completing an apprenticeship and spending five years in residential construction and repair. Framing, finishing, mechanical systems: the full scope of how a building actually goes together, done to code and done right.
ProFix Handyman Services was founded on a simple conviction: skilled work deserves to be paid what it's worth. Today ProFix operates as a network of vetted, insured subcontractors across the Chicago metro, expanding into the Dallas–Fort Worth area soon, with a dispatch and call center operation that handles the scheduling, the follow-up and the documentation, so property owners and managers make one call and get an answer.
That network is also how ProFix gives back. We train the people we bring in, and we're committed to opening the trades to the next generation, especially young people looking for a skill that pays and a career they can build on.
