Tools & materials
- Door stop (baseboard spring, hinge-pin or wall-mount)
- Drill and small bit
- Screwdriver
Step by step
- Step 1
For a baseboard stop: open the door to where the knob is 1 inch from the wall and mark the baseboard behind the door.
- Step 2
Drill a small pilot hole and screw the stop in by hand.
- Step 3
For a hinge-pin stop: close the door, tap out the top hinge pin, slip on the stop and tap the pin back in.
- Step 4
Adjust the hinge-pin stop's bumper screw so the door stops before the knob hits the wall.
- Step 5
For a wall-mount stop, line it up with the knob and screw it into the wall with the included anchor.
